About our Nursery

Blue Planet Montessori Nursery School is a sessional nursery for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 years old. The school offers high quality education which combines the traditions of the Montessori Method within an environment that is looking towards the future.

We aim to provide a service that is flexible and meets the needs of the local community. We look to meet the ideals of parents, in developing their children as a whole, meeting their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. The nursery acts as facilitator following the child's needs, aiding them to develop fully their potential for creativity, initiative, independence, inner discipline and self confidence.

A Montessori classroom is a prepared environment that allows children to act freely on their own initiative, meeting needs through spontaneous activity. The materials are specially designed and presented with certain techniques so that children are able to learn skills that in previous years were considered beyond their capacity.

The benefits of the classroom are not just academic, it develops social awareness, helping the children to live together in harmony and build a safe and peaceful world for the future.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission: to provide an environment that is happy, safe, stimulating and motivating so to enable the building of confidence to ensure each child maximises their full potential...

Each child will be a valued and respected member of the classroom, where each individual child's needs in his/her social, emotional, intellectual and physical education will be met and developed equally, none will be developed to the detriment of the other.

We aim to raise the awareness of different cultures, religions, race, gender and disability, developing greater understanding, value and respect.

All children will be given the freedom of choice within a prepared environment and introduced and encouraged to take part in a variety of new experiences.

Parents/Carers are welcome to observe the classroom and participate in activities. Feedback and suggestions on the service are actively encouraged.

Each child's work will be continually reviewed and measured in the form of written observations so that his/her progress is recorded, to ensure that all parents/Carers can be regularly informed.
